Indigenous Political Issues POLS 622 B2 explores the complex issues associated with Indigenous peoples, their politics and relationship with the Canadian state. Dr. Isabel Altamirano-Jimenez critically examines the ways in which Indigenous movements, political theories, and acts of resistance challenge narratives of discovery. Drawing on Indigenous scholarship from Canada and elsewhere, this seminar addresses themes such as gender, politics of refusal and recognition, affective resurgence, environmentalism and Indigenous sexualities.
