First Peoples’ House is a student service centre that offers programs and services that are designed to lift First Nations, Métis and Inuit students up to achieve academic and personal growth as well as holistic wellness, including academic, mental, emotional, physical, spiritual, cultural and, in honor of the student journey, financial support.

This approximately 40,000 square feet of renovated space on North Campus will allow First Peoples’ House to grow alongside the increasing number of First Nations, Métis and Inuit students attending the U of A and align the appropriate resources for these students to belong and thrive.

It is a shared responsibility to work towards reconciliation, dismantle systemic barriers and celebrate the diversity, strength, complexity, resilience and beauty of First Peoples and their cultures, languages and knowledge systems. Completing this space is another step towards making this a reality.
