Overview: Take part in a fully funded research internship experience while living on the shores of the Red Sea! KAUST provides the latest state-of-the-art facilities and specialized equipment to ensure faculty and students are able  to conduct research at the very front line of innovation. Through  the VSRP internship you will have a unique opportunity to receive  training and utilize this equipment to pursue your research goals under the guidance and support of KAUST faculty mentors. 

What is a VSRP Internship:

• 3 to 6 month research internship for international undergraduate and Master’s students in science and engineering disciplines. 
• Our research internships help expand your research  skills by giving you an opportunity to contribute your ideas in our world-class laboratories.
• This fully funded internship includes airfare, housing, and a monthly stipend.
• We accept top students who are passionate about their academic and research accomplishments.

Your Internship Package: 

• $1,000 USD monthly stipend 
• Visa fees 
• Round trip flight to KAUST 
• Private bedroom/bathroom in a shared apartment on campus
• Health insurance

When Can I Go?

Applications are accepted year round. 

Eligibility:

Open to senior level undergraduate and Master's level students with a strong academic background and passion for science and/or engineering.

Application Instructions:

You will need to provide the following documents: 

• Official academic transcripts for Bachelor’s, and Master’s degrees (if applicable) 
• Passport
• CV
• A statement of purpose which tells us about your motivation to apply for the internship
• Letter of recommendation from any faculty at your home university

1) Submit an application on HORIZONS - you will be contacted by the internship coordinator to discuss the internship, planning, and pre-departure instructions.

2) Review the VSRP project database to find a project of interest

3) Click on Apply while in the project decription to register for the VSRP program and submit your application documents.

4) You will be contact by the KAUST VSRP team within 3 weeks of submitting your application. If your application is selected to move forward, an interview will be scheduled. The total time to expect for the final outcome is 4-6 weeks from your application date.
