Minor in Arts and Cultural Management Non-degree Program Guide

This minor is administered by MacEwan University and is open to anyone in the BA or BA Honors programs in the Faculty of Arts at the University of Alberta with an interest in the field. Courses will be completed either online or at MacEwan University's downtown campus.

The Arts and Cultural Management minor prepares students for administrative and management roles in the creative and cultural sectors. If your major is in a Fine Arts discipline, you may find this minor particularly useful for understanding and working within the Arts and Culture sector.
Academic Requirements for Arts and Cultural Management Minor students
- Take 18 credits as outlined below. We recommend that you take AGAD 100 in your first year. Certain prerequisites and restrictions apply. Course descriptions are listed in MacEwan University’s Academic Calendar
- AGAD 100 – Foundations of Arts and Cultural Management
- 12 units senior level transferable AGAD including 6 units at the 300-level or above.
- 3 units additional transferable AGAD (junior or senior)
- If you are a University of Alberta student who wants to obtain a minor in Arts Management, you must:
- Obtain a letter of permission from your University of Alberta Faculty of Arts advisorr
- Follow the steps to apply to Open Studies as a Visiting Student from another institution
