WCHRI Supports the Braemar High School Pilot Project

The Women and Children's Health Research Institute (WCHRI), in collaboration with the Department of Human Ecology and the Faculty of Graduate Studies and Research, at the University of Alberta, co-sponsored a field trip for the students from Braemar School, the only school in Edmonton that provides education exclusively for pregnant and parenting teens. Hosted by Deanna Williamson, PhD, and organized by Mackenzie Martin, the field trip was created as an opportunity for students to experience a daily life on campus. They planned activities in different university labs and they met and talked with professors and researchers, but also with the peers who are balancing parenting responsibilities with their undergraduate studies.
