Long Time CUP Partner, Anne Smith, Receives Honorary Degree

Congratulations to our long-time partner Anne Smith, President and CEO of the United Way of the Alberta Capital Region on receiving an Honorary Doctor of Laws degree from the University of Alberta on June 13th. The United Way has been one of CUP's community partners since its early days. Dr. Margaret Ann Armour's introduction of Anne's lifetime dedication to community leadership and Anne's acceptance speech can be found in the video archive of the June 13th convocation ceremonies (the honorary degree conferral starts at the 25 minute mark). Dr. Smith has had a leading role in many research and evaluation partnerships that CUP has supported over the years - Families First Edmonton, the Mayor's Taskforce for Poverty Elimination, Communities United, and All in For Youth. This honour is well deserved! Congratulations Dr. Smith!
