Announcement on the Winter 2021 semester

Today, alongside our fellow large research institutions in Alberta — the University of Calgary and the University of Lethbridge — we announced our plans for the next semester.

Highlights of today’s announcement:
- The winter 2021 semester will be a combination of in-person, remote and online instruction.
- The U of A will be exploring all opportunities to increase our current in-person roster to maximize student learning (lectures, graduate research, practicums, experiential placements, etc.) up to 30%.
- A detailed list of Winter 2021 in-person offerings will be available in mid-November.
- The university is committed to gradually and safely opening physical campus spaces.
- In November, a January 2021 status update will be available for employees who are working remotely.
Information about the Winter 2021 academic term will be shared on the Campus Life webpage as it becomes available.
