Get Involved

Wellness Supports - Health Promotion on campus is led by our Team Coordinator with the support of student staff and volunteers. Each volunteer selects a working group to participate in during both fall and winter semesters. On a team consisting of 3-5 students, you share in the common goal striving for our campus to be a healthy place to study, work, live and play. Read below to find out which working group best suits your passions and skills:

  • Newsletters: Let’s Get Moving, a weekly newsletter that launches in January to encourage our campus community to get moving and promote physical activity. Stay -in Connected, provides ideas on how we can stay connected with each other and care for our wellbeing). This working group offers opportunities for research activities, wellness best practices, graphic design, writing and editing
  • Outreach: Volunteers are devoted to increasing awareness of Wellness Supports and our programs to students. On this team you will have opportunities to connect with student groups, create activities and work with the student body at large
  • Alcohol Awareness: Continue our ongoing campaign, Alcohol through your Lens.  Gather diverse perspectives from the student body on their thoughts on alcohol and  impacts they have experienced. This group offers opportunities to conduct presentations to small groups and facilitate dialogue on alcohol use and University life.

Other activities you will get involved in: Adjudication of Wellness Champion nominations as well as Heroes for Health grant proposals. Our volunteers also have opportunities for various campaign support, public speaking, event planning and outreach activities through tabling activations across campus.
