Winter Session 2022

The Green & Gold Soccer Academy is pleased to announce our Winter Session academy training that will provide high-performance players practice in the dome facility at Foote Field from January through February 2022. The Academy's philosophy is quite simply to build on the powerful legacy of the university's championship Golden Bears soccer team - by bringing the outstanding skills of the coaches and players to Edmonton's most ambitious teams and dedicated players. The Winter Session academy training offers 14 practices (21 hours of instruction) that are to be held each Tuesday and Thursday (5:30-7pm) from early January through February. All practices will take place in the dome at Foote Field - Edmonton's premier full-size soccer field.

* The academy aims to provide a coaching process that is based on solid youth development coaching principles delivered by our professional coaches utilizing superior soccer facilities. Strict adherence to the Canadian Soccer Association's Long Term Player Development (LTPD) model is applied.
* All goalkeepers will be provided with specialized instruction in all aspects of this demanding position. Each training session may feature soccer specific fitness training in the development of agility, coordination, quick feet, core strength, endurance, speed and power.
* The fitness or physical development is combined with technical and tactical training with a view to providing the youth player with the optimum opportunity for soccer skill enhancement.
* The cost for this program will be $300 per player for a minimum of 12 players.
