The John Dossetor Health Ethics Centre delivers health ethics education to students in the health science faculties at the University of Alberta. The Dossetor Centre makes important contributions to health ethics research on a broad spectrum of ethical, moral and human-rights issues. One of the Centre's outstanding achievements is community engagement which is accomplished by annually hosting the health ethics seminar series, symposium, workshops, grand rounds and publishing the newsletter, Health Ethics Today. Faculty members are also involved in health policy consultation. The Centre has a partnership with Alberta Health Services by providing support to the Clinical Ethicist and Clinical Ethics Committee for the University of Alberta Hospital, the Stollery Children's Hospital and the Mazankowski Alberta Heart Institute.
