Years Offered: August 10, 2015 - August 13, 2025

Ethics teaching for 3rd and 4th year students (approximately 15 per year) from across Canada in 2 or 4 week sessions.

Preceptor: Brendan Leier.

This flexible elective gives you an in-depth look at bioethics. The options range from: a reading course accompanied by discussions of the ethics issues in the literature (e.g., issues in reproductive ethics, geriatrics, neonatal problems, or human experimentation); or direct experience of a specific practical problem in health care ethics by first-hand exposure; or combinations of these. Students would normally be required to focus their conclusions by writing a position paper in the last week of the elective.

Elective Objectives: To provide experience of the discipline of bioethics within the context of medical practice.
