This collection of 103 digitized photographs allows visitors to view images of
Byzantine rite churches in rural Alberta created by Orest Semchishen, one of Canada’s finest documentary photographers. Throughout his career, Semchishen focused his keen eye on exploring and documenting rural communities, city business districts and markets, ethnic groups, fur trappers and prairie farms. He has compiled an extraordinary record of Canadian life, centered on the Prairies but extending across the country; we are very lucky to be able to share these photographs with our community members!
