Numerous awards are available for students of Ukrainian Folklore, administered by the University of Alberta, by the Kule Centre for Ukrainian and Canadian Folklore, and through a variety of other resources.

 

Graduate Awards and Scholarships

Kuryliw Family Research Assistantship in Honour of Ivan Franko

(up to approximately $17,000 per year) for a graduate research assistantship or teaching assistantship and differential fee support.

Kule Research Assistantship

Postdoctoral Awards

Kule Postdoctoral Fellowship

($40,000 per year plus $3000 research expenses, pro-rated)

 

Undergraduate Awards and Scholarships

Friends of the Ukrainian Folklore Centre Student Award

(max 24 @ $250) Awarded to students enrolled in a Ukrainian folklore course on the basis of academic standing.

Kule Canadian Folklore Undergraduate Class Award

(max 2 @ $500) Awarded to students for highest grades received in FOLK 204, FOLK 205 or other recognized Folklore classes.

Vera Gordey Smith Memorial Scholarship

(1 @ $500) Awarded to a student with superior academic achievement in the Faculty of Arts studying Ukrainian folklore.
