Dmytro Yesypenko

Dmytro Yesypenko is our new doctoral student originally from Kaniv, Ukraine. He is doing his PhD research on the epidemics in Ukrainian and Polish literatures and folklore in the Transnational and Comparative Literature program at the MLCS Department, University of Alberta. He is involved in the activities of the Kule Folklore Centre as a Research Assistant. In particular, Dmytro contributes to the publication project of Thomas and Leena Gushuls' letters, and also works with Mykhailo Bilas' archive.

His interests include Ukrainian historical and literary process of the 19th–early 20th centuries, digital and medical humanities. Dmytro edited a collection of Borys Hrinchenko’s prose (Kyiv: Krytyka, 2020) and co-edited, jointly with Alessandro Achilli and Serhy Yekelchyk “Cossacks in Jamaica, Ukraine at the Antipodes: Essays in Honor of Marko Pavlyshyn” (Boston: Academic Studies Press, 2020).
