Financial Support and Costs

Full-time graduate students receive a stipend guaranteed to be equal to or greater than the minimum, determined yearly by the graduate committee. The minimum stipend for 2015/16 is $20,500 per annum.

Tuition and fees should be paid by the student directly. For more information on fees, please visit:

Students should seek alternate sources of funding through competitive scholarships from the University and granting agencies. Students awarded competitive scholarships will receive stipends equivalent to the value established by the granting agency. In cases where the scholarship value is less than the minimum stipend, the difference will be paid from the supervisor's grant.

Students will be allowed to work for pay outside of the department only if it does not impact the quality of their research and only with unanimous approval of their Supervisor and Graduate Committee.
