Robert Rydzewski, Polish Doctoral Research Fellow at the Wirth InstituteI am a PhD candidate at the Department of Ethnology and Cultural Anthropology at Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznan, Poland. Currently, I am working on two research projects. The first one is about the 'Refugee Crisis' - an anthropological case study of the Serbian section of the Western Balkan route, which is also the topic of my PhD dissertation. This research aims to explore the role of social actors in the migrants movement through Serbia. It is based on fieldwork conducted in Serbia and Macedonia from October 2015 to October 2016 and short-term visits in the migrants host countries over the course of 2017 and 2018. The second project is about the transitions of post-Yugoslav cities, supported by The National Science Centre of Poland.

During my PhD studies, I have been awarded a fellowship at the Central European University in Budapest, Hungary (2015) and at Humboldt University in Berlin, Germany (2017). As a member of the Center for Migration Studies at Adam Mickiewicz University, I took part in various migration related research projects.

Additionally, in cooperation with the National Polish Radio, I have produced radio documentaries about migration and social exclusion. I have also published popular science texts for other media outlets.

I am a bike rider, a winter sports enthusiast, and a passionate tea drinker.
