Rich Sutton awarded 2021 IJCAI-21's Award for Research Excellence

Congratulations to Professor Rich Sutton for receiving the 2021 IJCAI-21's Award for Research Excellence for his contributions to the foundation of reinforcement learning!

Rich Sutton has been awarded the 2021 IJCAI-21 Award for Research Excellence. He is recognized for his fundamental contributions to the foundation of reinforcement learning. The winner of the award will give a talk on August 24, 2021. Watch his talk, "The Increasing Role of Experience in AI", here.

From the IJCAI website: " The Research Excellence award is given to a scientist who has carried out a program of research of consistently high quality throughout an entire career yielding several substantial results. Past recipients of this honor are the most illustrious group of scientists from the field of Artificial Intelligence."

IJCAI (International Joint Conferences on Artificial Intelligence Organization) is a non-profit corporation founded in California in 1969 for scientific and educational purposes, including dissemination of information on Artificial Intelligence at conferences in which cutting-edge scientific results are presented and through dissemination of materials presented at these meetings in form of Proceedings, books, video recordings, and other educational materials.
