The Department of Critical Care Medicine will be undergoing Royal College External Review for accreditation in November 2017.

What is accreditation?
Canada's medical residency programs are assessed based on national standards of evaluation and accreditation. Each program is evaluated based on its compliance to these standards. For Critical Care Medicine, the standards are developed by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (RCPSC).
Every six years, each residency program must undergo the accreditation process. An accreditation team from the RCPSC will review information obtained from our program through a detailed Pre-Survey Questionnaire (PSQ). The accreditation team will then conduct a series of on-site meetings. After this process, we hope to receive full accreditation.

To assist in this please mark Monday November 27, 2017 for the External Review (on-site visit) that has been confirmed for our department.

This is a mandatory review, thus your participation may be required. As we draw closer to the date we will have more information on the exact schedule of when, where, how you will be needed.

At present please make sure you have secured this date on your calendars.

Thank you kindly,
Dr. Wendy Sligl,

Residency Program Director, Critical Care Medicine
