Jack Iwashyna is Associate Professor of Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine at the University of Michigan. He is a practicing medical intensivist at both the University of Michigan (focusing on tertiary critical care) and the VA Ann Arbor Health System (focusing on more community critical care). He is best known for his work defining the concept of "survivorship" after ICU and measuring the post-intensive care syndrome. He has been a leader in the Society of Critical Care Medicine's Thrive Initiative to improve life for survivors of critical illness.
