Dr. Parker submitted her proposal to the 2018 Edmonton Zone QI funding competition, sponsored by the Chief Medical Officer of Quality Healthcare Improvement, AHS.
A total of $225,000 was available to the Edmonton Zone to fund multiple small quality improvement projects. These projects were to include a multidisciplinary team using quality improvement methodology to implement a change in their environment that would improve quality outcomes for patients. The maximum funding per project was $20,000. Twenty-five projects were assessed utilizing a standard review process, twenty were accepted for funding. Thus, this was a highly competitive process and the review team had some very difficult decisions to make.
The Department of Critical Care Medicine is pleased to announce Dr. Parker was awarded $4,500.00 for her project.
