12 June 2019

The Department of Critical Care Medicine (DCCM) has been a registered charity with the Edmonton Marathon since 2016.

Our objectives are three fold:

1. To build and foster our critical care community across the Edmonton Zone;
2. To generate awareness of our specialty of critical care medicine to the Edmonton public;
3. To raise funds that can be reinvested into our Department across our sites in the Edmonton zone (i.e., innovations in patient care, quality, research, and education).

We have been one of the top fundraisers in the Marathon over the past 3 years and this has enabled us to fund a series of projects for members in our Department across the zone. We would like to preserve and grow this legacy.

As a member of our FoMD community (across all disciplines), I'd encourage you to consider participating in any of the events in the Edmonton Marathon. You do not have to run the full marathon as the event has distances including a kids run, 5km, 10km, half and full marathon. You can walk or run or set up a unit team. When you register, make sure you register that you are running to support Critical Care.

Alternately, you can donate to our Cause.
