Tuition and Fees

Domestic Tuition

Tuition for domestic students (Canadian Citizens and Permanent Residents) is $1498.00 per course. Tuition is assessed each semester, by course.

Note: Tuition for MHSE domestic students is set at $1712.00 per course. However, the Faculty of Education will provide a bursary in the amount of $214.00 per course. The bursary will be applied prior to the fee payment deadline. All tuition fees and bursary amounts are subject to change.

International Tuition

Tuition for international students is higher than for Canadian Citizens and Permanent Residents - $2015.52 per course (subject to change). See the information provided here: Programs with Non-Standard Fees for International Students (look for Master of Education in Health Sciences Education). For details, please contact medhse@ualberta.ca.

Fees & Other Costs

  • Non-instructional fees are assessed by the university
Note: students can opt out of the Students' Union Health and Dental Plans.
  • Texts (these costs are not prohibitive as most texts are available in digital format or are available to borrow from the University of Alberta library system)

Payment Deadlines and Instructions

Fees must be paid by the specific deadline for your starting semester. Please review this page for complete information and dates.

Scholarships

Because the MHSE is a part-time program, students generally do not qualify for University of Alberta scholarships.

  • Métis students may be eligible for funding through the Belcourt Brosseau Métis Awards.
  • Contact your professional association to determine whether funding is available for your studies.
