Jonas Szelewicki

Jonas has completed the “trifecta” of his training at the University of Alberta, from Bachelor of Science (2019), to Doctor of Medicine (2023), to his current medical residency in Diagnostic and Molecular Pathology (2023-2028).
Throughout his training he has been a long-standing advocate of his now alma mater, such as during his six years as UAlberta Ambassador. In this position Jonas led 60+ campus/residence tours for students and special guests from around the globe. Ask him for a one-on-one tour anytime!!
He continues to maintain strong ties with the University of Alberta through his service on Alumni Council and his commitment to medical education. For example, he currently serves as a regular case-based learning facilitator for Chinese medical students in the Alberta Institute, an international collaboration between the medical schools in Edmonton and Wenzhou, China.
Jonas is equally invested in the City of Edmonton as the U of A community, with a strong interest in city building, urban infrastructure, and strategies to creating healthy and vibrant communities. For example, he has been an active member of the Edmonton Special Olympics community, coaching athletes in numerous sports programs since 2016. This involvement is also personal as he has a twin sibling with disabilities.
In his spare time, Jonas enjoys waterslides, plant-based living, and public transit adventures.
