Shivali Sharma graduated with Distinction from the University of Alberta’s Faculty of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences in 2004. She began her career as a staff pharmacist before becoming an Associate-Owner with Shoppers Drug Mart in 2009. Today, she owns and operates three Shoppers Drug Mart locations in Edmonton, where she leads multidisciplinary teams focused on patient care, innovation, and advancing the role of pharmacists in primary care.
A strong advocate for the pharmacy profession, Shivali has been actively involved in initiatives supporting expanded scope of practice, sustainable pharmacy care, and greater recognition of pharmacists as accessible primary care providers. She currently serves on the Board of Directors of the Alberta Pharmacists’ Association and has participated in the Association’s Leadership Cohort, engaging with elected officials and other stakeholders on issues affecting pharmacy practice and patient care.
Shivali is also the co-founder of HERizon Rx, a national initiative dedicated to advancing women in pharmacy entrepreneurship by creating opportunities for connection, learning, meaningful dialogue, and access to practical tools and resources. She has championed women’s leadership within pharmacy for many years, hosting and participating in events focused on leadership, entrepreneurship, and professional advancement.
Committed to developing the next generation of pharmacists, Shivali has served as a preceptor and mentor to pharmacy students, interns, pharmacists, and new pharmacy owners throughout her career. Her contributions to the profession have been recognized through several honours, including Shoppers Drug Mart Associate-Owner of the Year, the University of Alberta Preceptor Recognition Award, recognition as an Influential Woman in Pharmacy, and the 2026 Pharmacy Practice + Business Raise Your Voice Award.
Through her work as a pharmacy owner, advocate, entrepreneur, and University of Alberta Alumni Council representative, Shivali remains committed to strengthening the profession, creating opportunities for others, and contributing to the communities she serves.
