Facilities
Where innovation meets practice.
At the Mike Petryk School of Dentistry, we bridge the gap between classroom theory and clinical skills. Established in 1917, our school is housed within the University of Alberta’s vibrant North Campus, offering a world-class education in the heart of Edmonton’s river valley.
Choosing an oral health-care school is about more than just finding a classroom; it’s about choosing the environment that will shape your clinical identity. We provide a seamless learning experience through a blend of historic prestige and future-facing technology.

Take a virtual tour
Oral health classes are nestled together at the south end of the campus across three buildings: the Kaye Edmonton Clinic, the Kipnes Academy, and the Katz Group Centre. With direct LRT access and a network of internal pedways, you’re always connected to the best technology and the busiest transit artery in the city. It’s a fast-paced, urban training ground designed for the modern clinician.

Multiple dispensary locations
You’ll never have to go far between appointments to drop off used instruments and pick up sterilized kits for your next appointment. Keeping your focus on patient care, rather than cleaning tools.

Simulation lab
Before you ever treat a patient, you’ll build your skills in the simulation lab. With over 60 high-fidelity Dexter simulators, you’ll practice in an environment that perfectly mimics human anatomy and jaw movement. This safe, immersive setting ensures that when you move to the clinic, your hand skills are already second nature.

Research facilities
Our specialized research suites mean you’ll have the resources of a top-tier research university at your fingertips. Our laboratory’s infrastructure includes tissue culturing and molecular facilities, PCR & real-time PCR, flow cytometry, single-cell & bulk sequencing and class one to class three laboratories.

Off-campus facilities
The school offers students transformative, hands-on learning through a diverse network of community outreach initiatives that provide essential care to thousands of underserved patients each year. Depending on your program, you may provide services at some of the off-campus facilities. This includes long-standing clinics in central Edmonton and Northern Alberta, hospital settings, or at pop-up locations.
