Group discount

Fairmont Chateau Whistler

Your pass grants you access to all lectures, with no individual talk registration required. Just show up, take a seat, and gain valuable oral health perspectives from leading sedation experts. The sedation stream is ADA CERP recognized. All lectures are also available on the live stream.

Heading West: Whistler is closer than you think
While we are swapping the highway for the runway, the actual travel time to get to our destination is incredibly similar to last year's trip from the University of Alberta to the Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise.
Last year, the drive down to Lake Louise took about 5 hours. This year, trading the long drive for a quick flight and a scenic drive puts you at your destination in virtually the same amount of time. Once you arrive in the village, everything is walkable.
Step 1: Fly to YVR
You have plenty of daily, direct options to get across the Rockies:
- WestJet offers 6 to 9 direct flights per day, with a flight time of 1.5 hours.
- Air Canada offers 9 to 10 flights per day, with a flight time of 1 hour and 49 minutes.
Step 2: Drive to Whistler
Next is a 137 km drive along the famous Sea-to-Sky Highway. You'll snake along the Coast Mountains, taking in views of glaciers and the Howe Sound fjord.
The transit options that can drop you right at the hotel include:
- Car rentals are available at YVR with a travel time of 2 hours and 15 minutes.
- YVR Skylynx offers frequent shuttles with travel times ranging from 2 to 3 hours.
- Whistler Shuttle offers multiple shuttles with a travel time of 2 hours and 30 minutes.

This refund policy refers to the Sedation Updater's lecture tickets and courses purchased from the University of Alberta. Please refer to the corresponding organizations for refunds relating to your accommodations and other experiences.
The University of Alberta offers a full refund for requests made before Jan. 1, 2027. Refunds will no longer be issued starting on Jan. 1, 2027.
*Earlybird discount
The discount code is only valid on lecture passes for the Sedation Updater on Jan. 28 to 31, 2027, and until the allotted early bird tickets are sold. There is no guarantee that everyone with the discount code will be able to purchase an early bird ticket.
Certification courses, additional activities and the under-18 meal pass are not included in the lecture pass and must be purchased separately.

Note: This policy is set by the Fairmont Chateau Whistler and cannot be modified by the University of Alberta.
At 30 days prior to the individual’s reservation arrival, a non-refundable reservation deposit equal to 100% of the applicable reservation room and tax charges will be applied to the individual’s credit card. Please note that this does not affect your responsibility to produce all revenues required by this Contract. We will accept cancellation of individual reservations made up to 30 days prior to the individual’s reservation arrival. Any reservation cancellations made after this date, no shows, and/or early departures, will be charged 100% of the applicable reservation room and tax charges, including any non-refundable reservation deposits taken will be retained by the hotel.
