Dr. Ken Berley
Dental Sleep Medicine Leader

Dr. Berley, DDS, DABDSM, has practiced general, implant, and cosmetic dentistry for more than 43 years. His commitment to patient well-being and extensive clinical experience led him to pursue advanced training in dental sleep medicine, specializing in the treatment of obstructive sleep apnea with oral appliance therapy. Berley is widely recognized by physicians, dentists, and patients for successfully treating mild to severe sleep apnea cases.

Berley is a member of several national and state dental and sleep organizations, including the American Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine, American Dental Association, Arkansas State Dental Association, International College of Dentists, and River Valley Dental Association. He is also a Fellow of the Academy of General Dentistry.

Dr. Manuel Oscar Lagravère Vich
Director, orthodontic graduate program

Dr. Lagravère, DDS, MSc, PhD, was born in Lima, Peru, where he completed his degree in dental science (2000) and masters in science (2003) at the Universidad Peruana Cayetano Heredia.

After this, he moved to Edmonton to pursue a PhD in orthodontic which was completed in July 2009 in the University of Alberta. Since then, Lagravère has moved in the faculty ranks being promoted to tenured-professor in orthodontics since July 2023 where he is involved in teaching orthodontics to undergraduates and postgraduates students.

During his time in teaching and doing research, Lagravère has won several awards and has published over 160 papers in important scientific journals. In July 2025, he became the director of the orthodontic graduate program at the University of Alberta.

Presently, he runs several clinical trials involving orthodontic treatments and its impact on airway, skeletal, and dental changes. In several of these trials, he works jointly with universities from the US, Italy, Spain, Germany, and Mexico. His research mainly focuses on the areas of maxillary expansion, bone-anchored mechanics, and three-dimensional analysis. He is also the Director of the Applied Oral Health Research Unit.

Refund policy

This refund policy refers to the Obstructive Sleep Apnea (OSA) Advanced Symposium's lecture tickets purchased from the University of Alberta. Please refer to the corresponding organizations for refunds relating to your accommodations and other experiences.

The University of Alberta offers a full refund for requests made before Feb. 1, 2027. A 50% refund is available until April 15, 2027. Refunds will no longer be issued starting after April 15, 2027.

*Earlybird discount

The discount code is only valid on weekend lecture passes for the Obstructive Sleep Apnea (OSA) Advanced Symposium on May 14-16, 2027, and until the allotted early bird tickets are sold. There is no guarantee that everyone with the discount code will be able to purchase an early bird ticket.
