Did You Know?
- You can fit three NHL-sized hockey rinks in the Oral Health Clinic.
- We have 95 support staff which consist of lab technicians, registered dental assistants, treatment coordinators, patient services clerks, finance and insurance clerks, medical device reprocessing technicians, etc.
- We have several (close to 200!) part-time instructors from the community who contribute to providing student education and patient care.
- We had just over 21,000 patient visits and have completed over 67,000 procedures.
- We have 51 patients over 90!
- The longest time patient in that group has been coming since 1974.
- The Mike Petryk School of Dentistry was named on September 10, 2024, in recognition of a transformational gift from Mike Petryk, ’60 DDS, and Pat Petryk, ’57 Dipl(Ed), ’59 BEd, and their family.
Our Facilities

In-clinic Sterilization Suite
Experience unmatched clinical support with our central sterilization suite, keeping the instruments in the clinic. We utilize three large-capacity washer disinfectors and three autoclaves to process thousands of instruments a day.

In-house Prosthodontics Laboratory
Also in the clinic, you will find out prosthodontics lab staffed by a dedicated five-person technical team specializing in 3D-printed splints, surgical guides, and high-translucency zirconia restorations.

Simulation Lab
Our 60 mannequin simulators mimic the human oral cavity and are supported by audiovisual 'Ladybug' tech and high-magnification surgical microscopes to ensure every technical nuance is captured and taught with precision.

Research Facilities
Utilize our laboratory’s infrastructure that includes tissue culturing and molecular facilities, PCR & real-time PCR, flow cytometry, single-cell & bulk sequencing and class one to class three laboratories.
