The General Faculties Council (GFC) Nominating Committee is currently seeking staff members to serve on university-level appeal bodies and GFC standing committees.

No committee experience is necessary! Orientation and training is available for all members.

There are currently 6 vacancies for the GFC Academic Appeals Committee (AAC) that works through student appeals regarding academic standing. We are also looking to fill 4 vacancies to support the University Appeal Board (UAB)/Student Misconduct Appeal Roster (Appeal Panel) which looks at sanctions imposed under the Codes of Student Behaviour or Applicant Behaviour. These positions are open to all academic staff with service components in their contract. Or, consider serving on a GFC or other committee! Staff members from the University Community at-Large are needed on the following committees:

  • GFC Committee on the Learning Environment 
  • GFC Facilities Development Committee
  • GFC Nominating Committee
  • GFC Programs Committee
  • GFC Student Conduct Policy Committee
  • Department Chair Selection Committees

Committee members ensure a broad base of perspectives are considered and inform decision-making on hundreds of proposals every year.
