Overview

Fudan University, located in Shanghai, is one of the oldest and most selective universities in China, and is a member of the C9 League, Universitas 21 and Association of Pacific Rim Universities (APRU). It is composed of four campuses, including Handan, Fenglin, Zhangjiang, and Jiangwan.

Fudan University comprises 17 schools, 69 departments, 70 bachelor's degree programs, 243 master's degree programs, 35 disciplines, and 154 sub-disciplines authorized to confer Ph.D. degrees. Fudan University enrolls over 30,000 full-time students, including over 3,000 international students.

Fudan University has a high-level research faculty of over 2,700 full-time teachers and researchers, 37 academicians of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and the Chinese Academy of Engineering, 105 special professors, and lecture professors of the Cheungkong Scholars Program. Fudan University has 10 teaching hospitals, such as Zhongshan Hospital and Huashan Hospital, integrating medical service, education, and research. These hospitals have state-of-the-art equipment and sophisticated technology, over 900 highly qualified staff, creating a good environment for medical education.

For 2022, there will be two programs offered by Fudan. The School of Economics Summer School (SOE) and the Fudan University International Summer Session (FISS)

Students who are Canadian citizens applying for this program are encouraged to apply for funding through the Canada Learning Initiative in China (CLIC) program. 


When Can I Go?

Terms Offered: Summer 2022 - Online and in-person

Dates & Duration: FISS - July 4 - July 29, 2022 (4 weeks) 

SOE - June 6 -July 3, 2022 (4 weeks)

Offline courses will only be available to Chinese citizens that are already physically in China and have completed the quarantine and other requirements of Covid-19 control measures in Shanghai. International students (non-Chinese passport holders) can only take online courses.

Program Information

Language of Instruction: English

FISS The 4-week hybrid summer session offers 30 content courses taught in English. Students can take up to 6 content credits. 

Please note students are responsible for confirming transfer credit to their program. This is done after a student has been selected and nominated for a program. Some of the courses have been pre-evaluated but you still must confirm with your faculty about transfer credit. If the course you wish to take does not have an equivalent, this means your faculty must evaluate the course.

Fudan University Credit Information

 

SOE is held by the School of Economics of Fudan University, providing 16 courses taught in English and covering economics, finance, marketing, data science, social culture, etc. By tapping into the world-class resources of Fudan University, we aim to bring you an exciting and enriching summer!

 

 

According to the current global and local Covid-19 situation as well as the epidemic prevention and control measures of Shanghai and Fudan University, 14 courses will be taught face to face while others remain online for FISS 2022. Please note that the program office will re-evaluate the situation right before the program starts (the end of March) to make sure, that face-to-face teaching is feasible. If the pandemic continues to circulate, all offline courses will be converted to online live via Zoom. Details about visas or other matters can be found on the Fudan website which will be updated by FISS and SOE. 


Fees & Costs

Education Abroad Nomination Fee: $250.00 CAD

Fudan Application Fee: 400 RMB (~$80 CAD)

Program Fee: FISS 20,000 RMB (~$4,000 CAD) 

SOE 28,600 RMB (~$5,750 CAD)

Fees are subject to change without notice.


Housing

SOE- For students who take offline courses, please arrange your accommodation properly in advance. Please note that the expenses for board and lodging are not covered in the tuition fee.
