Transfusion Science Program

The requirements for the course and practicum-based Degree of MSc with Specialization in Transfusion Science are:

  • 36 graded units of course weight, etc.
    • LABMP 501 (3): Advanced Immunohematology
    • LABMP 502 (3): Immunohematology Techniques
    • LABMP 503 (3): Supply & Distribution 1
    • LABMP 504 (3): Supply & Distribution 2
    • LABMP 505 (3): Advanced Transfusion Support
    • LABMP 506 (3): Clinical Laboratory Operations & Quality Management Systems
    • LABMP 600 (3): Clinical Practicum I
    • LABMP 900A (3): Research Project
    • LABMP 601 (3): Clinical Practicum II
    • LABMP 900B (3): Research Project
    • Electives (6)
  • Indigenous History Studies course;
  • Academic Integrity and Ethics training;
  • Professional Development requirement;
  • One oral presentation at LMP Rounds;
  • Attendance at specified seminars.

Students must maintain a cumulative program GPA of 3.0 and pass all core courses.

Full-time: 16 months (2 years)
Part-time: 32 months (4 years)

Part-time studies must be approved by the Department before commencement.
