Prof. Faith Majekolagbe among featured experts at President’s Speaker Series

Intellectual property law researcher asks if copyright protection should be granted over AI generated work

Assistant Professor Faith Majekolagbe of the University of Alberta Faculty of Law was among the featured experts at the President’s Speaker Series on artificial intelligence.

Hosted by President Bill Flanagan, the panelists provided insights into the dynamic world of AI and how it is already becoming a powerhouse tool to tackle global challenges head-on.

Advising national governments on a range of matters related to intellectual property and development, Majekolagbe shared her expertise surrounding intellectual property law and technology law. She discussed the role of laws in AI governance and helped deepen the understanding of IP laws' roles in AI development and AI ethics.
