SLIS Staff - 5 February 2013

The School of Library and Information Studies is pleased to announce the successful submission of the Program Presentation to the American Library Association Committee on Accreditation (COA) on January 21, 2013. We now proudly invite you to read our Program Presentation and welcome you to send us your comments. This document is a self study that describes the School and the MLIS program, its students, faculty and instructors, staff, and curriculum for the benefit of the COA and the External Review Panel site visit team, scheduled to visit SLIS from March 2-6, 2013. This document demonstrates the School's success in attaining its objectives and its continued compliance with the six ALA Standards for Accreditation of Master's Programs in Library & Information Studies.

This occasion afforded by the COA was an extended opportunity of introspection and explicitly gave permission to the School, and its constituents, to revel in our collective accomplishments. The School is very proud of this document and its confirmation of the excellence of the MLIS program at SLIS. The reaccreditation process is a major undertaking and we deeply appreciate the contributions to this effort made by the alumni, students, employers, library leaders, and more who generously donated their time on behalf of the School's continued success. We are looking forward to an absorbing, busy, and ultimately successful site visit in March.
