The University Health Centre is open to help you with your health care needs.

In-person visits will need to be booked by phone for reasons such as Paps, wart treatments, rashes, allergy injections or other vaccinations, specialist appointments (Dr. Tankel, Dr. Ravji, dietician) etc.

Virtual care can be provided by phone call if possible, as per recommendations from the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Alberta. Reasons may include: prescription refills or other medication-related questions; follow-up concerns related to lab work or chronic conditions where an examination is not needed; or similar concerns.

  • You must be in the province of Alberta to have a virtual visit with a UHC physician due to provincial licensing regulations. If you are not currently in Alberta, please seek medical services in your area.
  • If you are looking for a phone call with a specific physician or would like to book a phone call at a certain time, please use your Medeo account for appointment availability. If you require access to our private booking site, please email

Please Note: 

Exhibiting Symptoms:
If you are exhibiting any COVID-19 symptoms (regardless of vaccination status or recent negative test results), and have a previously booked appointment, please call UHC to cancel your appointment or reschedule to a virtual visit.  

If you are experiencing COVID-19 symptoms, do not come to campus, follow AHS guidelines, and you can use the Medeo system to book a virtual visit or complete the Ocean form to be added to the queue for a same-day phone call with a physician.

Due to decreased staffing levels during the COVID-19 pandemic, please be aware that response wait times have increased. If you are calling UHC between the hours of 11:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m., please be aware that wait times to speak with a staff member have increased significantly. Please note:

  • If it appears that you need an in-person visit, you will be contacted by our staff to book an appointment to see one of our physicians or nurses in-person. 
  • If your concern can be addressed via virtual care/phone call, you will be invited to set up a Medeo account and directed to either book online via Medeo for a phone “appointment” with one of our physicians; or else added to our “phone list” to get a call from the next available physician (time before being called back is unpredictable). 
  • If you know that you would like to have a phone consult with a UHC Physician and would like to set up a Medeo account, please email and indicate that you would like to be invited to use Medeo for online booking at our office.
