The Department of Anthropology is delighted to have Dr. Steven Feld, a Distinguished Ethnomusicologist, Anthropologist and Linguist, visit the University of Alberta from September 24-26. He will be giving a talk entitled Honk Horn Music and the Sounds of Modernity in Accra

on September 24 at Telus Centre Lecture Theatre 150. On Friday, September 26, he will present an academic lecture called Nostalgia and Modernity: From New Guinea to Appalachia by Way of 9/11.

Dr. Feld will be available to talk about his cultural advocacy work in the roundtable/open house to be held at the Center for Ethnomusicology (Arts 3-47) on Thursday at 2 pm. All undergrad, grad students and profs who would care to drop by would be most welcome.
