I teach in the areas of translation, literature and language. I strongly value community engagement through Community Service Learning (CSL) and research projects with practical outcomes. By making their skills available to the community students become better learners and enlightened citizens. In my English to French translation courses students have had the opportunity to translate material for a wide range of non-profit community organizations including the Learning Disabilities Association of Alberta, Grandin School, and REACH Edmonton, and gain thereby invaluable hands-on experience.
I have supervised students in the area of translation studies working on topics such as self-translation, translation of multilingual texts, postcolonial translation, and AVT. I was awarded the 2015 GSA graduate supervision award (SSHRC category).
