Powder X-ray Diffraction Laboratory

The Powder X-ray Diffraction (XRD) Laboratory consists of one instrument: an Inel MPD Multi Purpose Diffractometer System equipped with a CPS 120 curved position sensitive X-ray detector and copper radiation.

The XRD Lab is located in room E4-46 of the Gunning/Lemieux Chemistry Centre. Please note that the instrument belongs to Prof. Arthur Mar's research group and is available to department members. To arrange access, please contact Prof. Mar or Dr. Michael Ferguson. For researchers external to the Department of Chemistry, please contact Prof. Mar to discuss arrangements for data collection and/or analysis.

To reserve the instrument, log in to your Apps@UAlberta account and add a new event in the chemxrd@ualberta.ca calendar.
