Canadian Citizens & Permanent Residents Tuition
Tuition for Canadian Citizens and Permanent Residents is $1498.00 per course. Tuition is assessed each semester, by course.
Note: Tuition for MES domestic students is set at $1749.66 per course. However, starting in Summer 2023, the Faculty of Education will provide a bursary in the amount of $251.66 per course.
Fees & Other Costs
- Non-instructional fees are assessed by the university
Note: student can opt out of the Students' Union Health and Dental Plans. - Texts (these costs are not prohibitive as most texts are available in digital format, are available to borrow from the University of Alberta library system, and are used for more than one course)

Scholarships
Because the MES is a part-time, course-based program, students generally do not qualify for University of Alberta scholarships.
- You may be eligible for funding your local school division and/or the Alberta Teachers Association (once you've logged in, check Members > Awards and Scholarships).
- Métis students may be eligible for funding through the Belcourt Brosseau Métis Awards.
