Has it been more than 12 months since your last photo? It's time to put your best face forward and refresh your professional image with a new headshot!

Your headshot is a crucial component of your online presence. Whether it's our department's website, LinkedIn, or other professional platforms.

Photo Consent

Your Headshot = Your Voice in Our Community

By having a headshot taken with the Department of Medicine or submitting your own photo, you’re giving consent for us to feature your photo in our communications, e.g., on the website, newsletters, event materials, slide presentations, and social media. 

Your photo will only ever be used in connection with your professional role and the work you do within the Department.

Participation is completely voluntary, and you may withdraw your consent at any time.

Department Photo Submission Guidelines

To ensure fairness and authenticity, we only accept photos that accurately represent the person as they appear in real life.

Please do not submit images that have been enhanced, altered, or generated using AI tools. Natural lighting and standard edits like basic cropping or color correction are fine, but facial features, body shape, and overall appearance must remain true to you.

Our goal is simple: when someone meets you in person, you should look just like your photo.

Please follow these instructions carefully.

Photo Requirements

  • Recent: Taken within the last 6 months
  • Color photo: No black and white or filters
  • High resolution: Clear and in focus; no pixelation or blurriness
  • Plain background: No busy patterns or shadows
  • No borders: Head and shoulders or upper body only, no added borders or frames

Subject Appearance

  • Face visible: Entire face and shoulders centered and facing the camera
  • Eyes clearly visible: No red-eye or reflections from glasses
  • No hats
  • No AI-enhanced photos

Framing and Composition

  • Head must be centered and occupy ~70% of the photo height
  • The photo can show from the top of the head to the waist. No full body photos.
  • Background must be well-lit and free from shadows (especially behind head/shoulders)

File Requirements

  • Format: JPG, JPEG, or PNG
  • File size: At least 100 KB

Editors are responsible for ensuring the quality of the content they publish. They may refuse photos if the image does not meet the above standards.
