The DoM Community Health Fair is a free, drop-in event designed to bring together the Edmonton public and local health experts for a day of learning, conversation, and community connection.
Join us for engaging health talks, informative booths, fun giveaways, and practical resources to support lifelong wellness.

- Drop-in anytime between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m.
- Expert talks on topics like heart health, aging, digestion, diabetes, vaccines, Parkinson’s Disease, asthma and more, with opportunities to ask questions.
- Informative booths hosted by the Department of Medicine divisions and community partners.
- Vaccine shots available by Rexall Pharmacy.

- Sun Safety for All of Us — Dr. Marlene Dytoc, clinical professor of dermatology.
- Stop, Check, and Schedule: Vaccines are for Adults Too! — Dr. Robyn Harrison, clinical professor of infectious diseases.

- Are you at a higher risk? Reduce your metabolic risk, and get screened for cancer — Dr. Dominic Mudiayi, assistant clinical professor of general internal medicine.
- Sleep, Dreams, and the Brain: Unlocking the Earliest Clues to Parkinson’s Disease — Dr. Stephen Joza, assistant professor of neurology.
- Healthy Brain Aging — Dr. Adrian Wagg, professor of geriatric medicine.

Dr. Marlene Dytoc, clinical professor of dermatology - Dr. Dytoc also serves as the Deputy Edmonton Zone Chief for Dermatology, the Undergraduate Medical Education Director for Dermatology and the Divisional Lead for Quality Improvement at the U of A, the Provincial Lead for Dermatology in Connectcare, and in the Competence Committee and Residency Program Committees for Dermatology at the U of A.
- Impact of Climate Change on Respiratory Health
Dr. Giovanni Ferrara, professor of pulmonary medicine - He is also the Director of the Division of Pulmonary Medicine at the U of A, where he has led a team of skilled researchers and professionals since February 2019. In addition to his research, Dr. Ferrara teaches and supervises medical students and residents in respiratory disease and is currently supervising one PhD student at the Karolinska Institutet (Sweden) and a postdoctoral fellow in big data analytics related to wildfire smoke exposures at the U of A.

Dr. Dominic Mudiayi, assistant clinical professor of general internal medicine - Dr. Mudiayi is also the Lead for Quality Improvement (QI) in the Division of GIM, and a member of the Edmonton Zone Quality Council – Strategic Clinical Improvement Committee.
- Healthy Brain Aging
Dr. Adrian Wagg, professor of geriatric medicine - Dr. Wagg is a specialist in Geriatric and General Medicine with expertise in health services research. He is also the Director of the Division of Geriatric Medicine at the U of A, and a Professor of Continence Sciences at the University of Gothenburg, Sweden. He is Deputy Head of the Department of Medicine at the University of Alberta and he holds the Alberta Health Services Chair in Healthy Aging.
- Stop, Check, and Schedule: Vaccines are for Adults Too!
Dr. Robyn Harrison, clinical professor of infectious diseases - An Infectious Disease physician at both the Grey Nuns Hospital and the University of Alberta Hospital in Edmonton. She is a Communicable Disease Consultant for the AHS Workplace Health and Safety Program (since 2008). Dr. Harrison is keenly interested in policy development and support for clinicians to prevent infection transmission in healthcare settings.
- Sleep, Dreams, and the Brain: Unlocking the Earliest Clues to Parkinson’s Disease
Dr. Stephen Joza, assistant professor of neurology - Dr. Joza is a clinician-scientist with expertise in movement disorders and sleep neurology. He joined the Parkinson and Movement Disorders Program and the Sleep Medicine Program at the U of A in 2024. His research interests focus upon the prodromal stages of Parkinson’s disease. His work has recently been honored by the Sleep Medicine Investigator Award from the American Academy of Neurology, and MDS Junior Award from the International Parkinson and Movement Disorder Society.
