Department of Medicine Teaching Awards
UGME Teacher of the Year
Nominations for the Undergraduate Medical Education (UGME) Teacher of the Year award are submitted by the medical students rotating through their Medicine clerkship.- Nominations are submitted via Cally - the Faculty of Medicine UME online system.
PGME Teacher of the Year
The Internal Medicine residents submit nominations for this award at the end of each rotation through the various Internal Medicine services.
- Nominations are submitted via WebEval (ONE45) - the online evaluation and scheduling system.
- Award letters are emailed to award winners and honorable mentions in late April / early May each year to ensure adequate notice for award winners to attend the Department of Medicine Annual Celebration Dinner.
Medical Education Publication Award
The Medical Education Publication Award is given to a first, senior or corresponding author for a publication in a top-ranked journal or peer-reviewed compendium, with the work having been completed at the University of Alberta.
Department of Medicine CIM Residency Program Awards
The Core Internal Medicine (CIM) Residency Program Awards recognize and celebrate the outstanding achievements of our residents and teachers. Offered twice a year, these awards highlight excellence in education, leadership, and clinical practice within the program.
