Congratulations to Leanne Schell, medical education program coordinator, on receiving the PGME 2026 Fellowship and AFC Program Administrator Award.
Over the past nine years, Leanne has supported residents and fellows across numerous training programs, including solid organ transplant, cardiology, neurology, gastroenterology, core internal medicine, and the Department of Medicine fellowship program. She currently supports the neurology residency and fellowship programs.
Recognized as a "vital bridge among fellowships," Leanne is known for her professionalism, approachability, and unwavering commitment to learners. Fellows and colleagues alike value her guidance, reliability, and ability to foster a respectful, supportive environment. Her dedication to improving fellowship administration and consistently going above and beyond has strengthened both the learner experience and the broader fellowship administrative community.
Established in 2025, the Fellowship and AFC Program Administrator Award recognizes outstanding administrators who demonstrate exceptional leadership, collaboration, resourcefulness, knowledge, and dedication in supporting fellowship and Area of Focused Competence (AFC) programs.
