Cheers to Carrie Hlady, recipient of the 2026 Program Administrator for Excellence Award

We’re celebrating Carrie Hlady, medical education program coordinator for the Department of Medicine’s General Internal Medicine Residency Program, on receiving the 2026 Program Administrator Award for Excellence from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada.

With more than 20 years of experience in postgraduate medical education, Carrie has dedicated her career to supporting residents, faculty and program leadership and helping create exceptional learning experiences.

As lead program administrator for the General Internal Medicine Residency Program, Carrie plays an integral role in residency administration, accreditation, curriculum coordination and learner support. Her organizational expertise, collaborative spirit and genuine commitment to people have made her a trusted and valued member of the program.

Carrie is known for building meaningful relationships, bringing people together and keeping the many moving parts of residency education on track — always with professionalism, authenticity and a great sense of humour.

The Royal College recognized Carrie for the leadership, innovation, dedication and professionalism she brings to postgraduate medical education. Her award is a wonderful reflection of the difference she makes every day for learners, faculty and colleagues.

The Program Administrator Award for Excellence is presented annually to a residency program administrator who demonstrates a commitment to excellence in supporting all aspects of residency education.
