ENGL 482 A1: Land relations

C. Stewart

In this creative research class, we ask if more holistic encounters with the land and its stories can help us better understand where we are and allow us to bring greater weight and fulfillment to our own treaty and/or land agreement obligations and acknowledgements. By going out onto the land where we live and where important land negotiations have taken place, and by listening to and reading Elders, knowledge keepers, poets and artists, we will seek to develop good relationships with this place.

Because this is a creative research course, students will be encouraged to work in creative forms
(poetry, creative prose, film, dance, textiles) to express their learning.
