What is your role at the GSSMC?

Physiotherapist

What is your main area of practice?

Musculoskeletal and sports injuries. I am a part of the multidisciplinary shoulder clinic at the GSSMC. Growing up I participated in competitive dance so I have a strong interest in working with dancers. I am also an active runner so I have an interest in running injuries. 

What did you study and where?

I completed a Bachelor of Arts in Kinesiology from Western University in 2008 and graduated with a MScPT from Queen’s University in 2011. Since graduating I have continued to take courses annually including Level 2 Manual therapy, SFMA Level 1, McKenzie Part A-C, Mulligan courses, traditional acupuncture and I am certified in Gunn IMS. I have also taken courses specific to the TMJ as well as the prevention of running injuries. 

Do you work specific days/hours?

Monday to Thursday, 1:00 p.m. to 6:30p.m., and Fridays, 1:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.

What is your favourite way to stay active? 

I enjoy anything involving fitness – running, swimming, spin classes, weight training, and barre classes.
