Together with Bielefeld University, University of Applied Sciences Bielefeld and Ostwestfalen-Lippe University of Applied Sciences, Paderborn University is a member of a 'Leading-Edge Cluster' of universities that support their region as innovation partners and conduct cutting-edge interdisciplinary research in the fields of self-optimization, cognition, and industrial automation.
Paderborn is a middle-sized city which makes it easy to meet new people and quickly orientate oneself.
Its central location is a perfect starting point to explore sights and cities nearby or other parts of Germany and Europe.
The university has five faculties: Arts & Humanities, Business Administration & Economics, Science, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering and Mathematics.

*Students have the choice to enroll for a FREE German language crash course before the official start of the semester period. The course starts either at the beginning of March or at the beginning of September.
