Research Opportunities

The Department of Medical Microbiology and Immunology offers two opportunities for students to roll up their sleeves and carry out experiments in an active research laboratorium: the Summer Student program and the one-term MMI 498 or two-term MMI 499 course. It is your chance to put the theoretical and practical skills you have been building to good use and experience the thrill of solving real puzzles. In the process you will learn a whole new set of skills including time management, team work, experimental design, documentation, etc. There are also important other benefits, including getting a taste of what it would be like to be a graduate student and building rapport with a faculty member which allows him/her to write a more substantial letter of recommendation for you in the future. Click the submenu on the left for more details on the Summer Student and 498/499 programs.
