Summit for Stollery - and Lois Hole Hospital for Women!
We couldn't be more excited, nervous, and proud to join the Summit for the Stollery team in this incredible quest to conquer Mt. Kilimanjaro - and also raise a significant amount of money for two very near and dear causes to us - The Stollery Children's Hospital Foundation and the Lois Hole Hospital for Women.
Both of us are proud members of the Lois Hole Hospital Women's Society (Krista is co-founder and co-chair, Jenny is chair of the community engagement and partnerships committee) and in the last year and a half, we have worked diligently toward advocacy and fundraising for the hospital with the most incredible group of women, purchasing our first major piece of equipment this year - an upgrade to the DaVinci Robot. We couldn't be more proud and appreciative of all the women involved and the community support that rallies around Edmonton's hospitals and the patients they serve.
This brings us to today and the climb. Neither of us are ones to shy away from a steep challenge, both in climbing the mountain, but also in asking you - our friends, family and community - for your support in getting to our donation and physical goals - The Summit.
For both of us, this trip will not only be an adventure of a lifetime, but an incredible lesson to teach our children - that sacrifice, hardwork and putting yourself outside your comfort zone to help those in need is one of the greatest gifts you can give to yourself and in turn, the women and children who will be supported through our fundraising initiatives.

*The Stollery Children's Hospital Foundation and the Lois Hole Hospital for Women have been partners in research for the last decade. Research for women and children is a chronically underserved area. The funds that Krista and Jenny raise will be dedicated to research for women who are both pregnant and postpartum through the incredible work of the Women and Children Health Research Institute - with the Stollery and the Lois Hole Hospital for Women.
