Vaccination Information

Immunizations are offered by appointment or on a walk-in basis (based on vaccine availability).

Now accepting walk in vaccination appointments from 9 am–12 pm and 2 pm–4 pm.

COVID-19 Immunization

The University Health Centre Pharmacy is offering first, second and additional doses of the Pfizer and Moderna COVID-19 vaccines.

COVID-19 immunization is available at no charge to all eligible Albertans with a valid Alberta Health Care number (see eligibility information on the Government of Alberta website).

Influenza Immunization

Beginning October 18 the University Health Centre Pharmacy will be offering Influenza immunization.

Influenza immunization is available at no charge to Albertans five years of age and older with a valid Alberta Health Care number.

In an effort to reduce the spread of COVID-19, we ask that you observe the following:

  • Call ahead to the pharmacy (780-492-2634 ext. 2) if you have a fever with a cough or shortness of breath.
  • Call ahead (780-492-2634) to order prescription refills when possible (or use the Telus PharmaConnect app).
  • Do not wait for prescriptions in the pharmacy. We can provide you with an estimated time when your prescription(s) will be ready for pick up.
  • Use our curbside pickup service (weekdays, 9 am4:30 pm) (see map).

Conveniently located in the Students' Union Building, we are a full-service pharmacy dedicated to serving all students and staff at the University of Alberta as well as the surrounding community.

Medication reviews
Have questions about your prescriptions? One of our pharmacists will talk to you about your health and prescriptions to help you better manage your medical condition(s).
Pharmacist prescribing, renewal, and transfer
All of our pharmacists are authorized to prescribe, can renew ongoing prescriptions (some exceptions apply), and transfer most prescriptions from any pharmacy in Canada. We are part of the SunLife Insurance Preferred Provider Network.

From your annual influenza immunization to vaccinations for travelling, all of our pharmacists are authorized to administer immunizations.

Influenza Immunizations
The team at the UHC Pharmacy is following enhanced cleaning and physical distancing measures as recommended by public health officials. We are currently offering influenza vaccination by walk-in or appointment.

Once you book your appointment, you will receive a calendar invite with a pre-registration link that you must fill out no earlier than 24-hours before your appointment. Influenza Immunization is available for ages 5+.

Tobacco cessation products and services
We offer a complete range of products and services to help you quit for good. Talk to a pharmacist about creating your plan to kick the habit with our individual consultations that discuss the various approaches to quitting tobacco use, including over-the-counter and prescribed products.
Travel Consultations
We are a convenient one-stop-shop for up-to-date travel information, immunizations, and health advice for most major destinations. Please call the pharmacy to book a travel consultation with one of our pharmacists. Our pharmacists can prescribe the required vaccines and medications for your travel. We are a Yellow Fever Certified Travel Clinic.
