Asymptomatic COVID-19 Testing Available!


  • Testing is for asymptomatic people only. Please refrain from visiting our pharmacy and call 8-1-1 if you are experiencing any of the following: fever, sore throat, shortness of breath, runny nose, have been in close contact with someone who has recently tested positive for COVID-19 (or someone who has symptoms and is waiting for test results), or if you’ve returned from international travel within 14 days.
  • If you have not tested positive for COVID-19 in the past 14 days prior to visiting our site to receive your asymptesting.

To arrange for testing, call us prior to your visit and be sure to have your valid Alberta Health Care card available.

We're Open!

We are currently open with operating hours from Monday to Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. In an effort to reduce the spread of COVID-19, we ask that you observe the following:

  • CALL AHEAD to the pharmacy (780-492-2634 ext. 2) if you have a fever with a cough or shortness of breath.
  • Call ahead (780-492-2634) to order prescription refills when possible (or use the “Telus PharmaConnect” app).
  • Do not wait for prescriptions in the pharmacy - we can provide you with an estimated time when your prescription(s) will be ready for pick up.
  • We are currently offering Curb Side Pickup (see map) and limited prescription delivery.
  • Currently, we are not accepting cash. Payment can be made by credit or debit card.

Convenient, On-Campus Pharmacy

Conveniently located in the Students' Union Building, we are a full service pharmacy dedicated to serving all students and staff at the University of Alberta as well as the surrounding community.

Our Pharmacy team is ready to assist you with a full selection of prescription and over-the-counter medications, health and wellness products, and a comprehensive range of services including:

  • Medication reviews: Have questions about your prescriptions? One of our pharmacists will talk to you about your health and prescriptions to help you better manage your medical condition(s).
  • Pharmacist prescribing, renewal, and transfer: All of our pharmacists are authorized to prescribe, can renew ongoing prescriptions (some exceptions apply), and transfer most prescriptions from any pharmacy in Canada. We are part of the SunLife Insurance Preferred Provider Network.
  • Immunizations: From your annual influenza immunization to vaccinations for travelling, all of our pharmacists are authorized to administer immunizations.
  • Tobacco cessation products and services: We offer a complete range of products and services to help you quit for good. Talk to a pharmacist about creating your plan to kick the habit with our individual consultations that discuss the various approaches to quitting tobacco use, including over-the-counter and prescribed products.
  • Travel Consultations: We are a convenient one-stop shop for up-to-date travel information, immunizations, and health advice for most major destinations. Make an appointment or stop by for your walk-in travel consultation to have a member of our pharmacy team review your travel itinerary. Our pharmacists can prescribe the required vaccines and medications for your travel. We are a Yellow Fever Certified Travel Clinic.

Refills made easy

Save time waiting in line to refill your prescription using any of the following:
  • Telus PharmaConnect app - allows you to submit your refill request to the pharmacy using your smart phone or tablet. (Free to download on iTunes and Google Play.)
  • Automated phone system - call ahead using our automated system and indicate which prescriptions you would like refilled.
  • Call ahead - speak with one of our staff to request your refills.

Naloxone Kits

Naloxone Kits are available at the University Health Centre Pharmacy. Anyone at risk of opiate overdose from Fentanyl or other opiates can get a Naloxone Kit to carry with them. The Naloxone Kit is free of charge.
