Children's Liturgy

***Children's Liturgy is cancelled until further notice.

Children's Liturgy is a way of keeping kids active and involved during the readings and homily without distracting the parents. Children's liturgy always begins with a song, and while the exact activity is up to the leader, it typically involves activities from "Liturgy of the Word for Children" (by Sr. Celine Graf, OSU, published by St. Peter's Press) or "Catholic Gospel Coloring and Worksheets for Sunday Mass" from CatholicMom.com.

Children's Liturgy is led by one of several SJC parish volunteers and is for children ranging from age 3 (potty trained) to age 7. Children do not have to be baptized to attend and parents or care-givers are welcome to join in. The service is free of charge and takes place in the SJC Newman Centre on Sundays at 9:30 and 11:00 am for the months of September to June.

We ensure that our volunteers have been screened in accordance with the policies of the Archdiocese of Edmonton and a parent is always present during the liturgy to ensure that we are in accordance with the policy that no volunteer ever be alone with children.
